CafeNET pre pay Internet access comes in three options, you can purchase CafeNET Mbytes, CafeNET GoAllDay (24 hour pass) or CafeNET GoAllWeek (7 day pass)

 

CafeNET Mbytes


CafeNET Mbytes is the ideal way to go for regular users wanting to keep in touch using email or messaging or doing some browsing. You can stay connected as long as you like because time is not counted - this is a perfect way to stay connected. On CafeNET you can purchase Mbytes in two values, $20 for 70Mbytes or $80 for 350Mbytes. (These prices are GST inclusive and in New Zealand Dollars)

If you purchase Mbyte quota on the CafeNET website when you are not connected to CafeNET (for example you are using your home or office internet connection) then the Mbytes will be available for you to use next time you connect and login at a CafeNET location.

 

CafeNET GoAllDay


GoAllDay provides 24 consecutive hours of CafeNET WiFi for just $10. This is ideal when you are in town for the day and need to stay connected. You can log in and out as often as you like within the 24 hour period.

If you normally use Mbytes, you can still purchase GoAllDay to get 24 hours of access. To do this, log into CafeNET as you normally would, purchase your GoAllDay pass on-line and then logout by clicking the logout button. Next time you login your GoAllDay pass will be activated. At the end of the 24 hour period you will revert back to Mbyte usage.

If you purchase a GoAllDay pass on the CafeNET website when you are not connected to CafeNET (for example you are using your home or office internet connection) then the DayPass will automatically activate next time you connect and login at a CafeNET location.

CafeNET GoAllWeek


GoAllWeek provides 168 consecutive hours (7 days) of CafeNET WiFi for just $50.  This is ideal when you are in town for the week and need to stay connected.  You can log in and out as often as you like within the 7 day period.

To begin log into CafeNET , purchase your GoAll Week pass on-line and then logout by clicking the logout button.  Next time you login your GoAllWeek pass will be actived.

 

CafeNET Pre-paid Tokens


CafeNET pre-paid tokens are a convenient way to buy Mbyte quota if you don't have a credit card for completing an on-line transaction. Pre-paid Tokens can be purchased for $20 (for 70Mbytes) at a number of cafes. Please check your local zone for details on the the places you purchase tokens. https://secure.cafenet.co.nz/zones/

How to Use CafeNET Prepay Internet Access


Using CafeNET for the first time is easy as 1..2..3..

 

  1. Register and create a username and password. Follow the "Register Here" link on the CafeNET homepage.
  2. Enter a username (must be a valid email address) and password, also add your mobile phone number just in case you forget your password - we can text you a new one.
  3. Choose the Buy/Add Quota link, either buy Mbytes, GoAllDay, GoAllWeek or Apply a pre-purchased token.

 

How "My Account" Works

 

Logging In To CafeNET

When you login to CafeNET, by entering your username and password then pressing the Login button, you will be directed to your My Account page.

If you have NO Mbyte or GO24 time quota remaining, My Account page will tell you;

You are not connected to CaféNET. You cannot connect because you have no quota remaining.

To proceed you need to click on the Buy/Add Quota tab and either complete a credit card transaction or apply a pre-purchased token.

If you have Mbyte or GO24 time quota remaining, My Account page will tell you;

You are being connected to CafeNET. It may take several seconds for your connection to be completed.

At this point just wait a few seconds and then start browsing. If you get redirected to the CafeNET homepage don't login again, just wait a few more seconds because your connection has not been completed, then try browsing again.

 

Checking My Account When Logged In To CafeNET

Once you have successfully logged into CafeNET you can return to your My Account page at anytime by navigating to CafeNET.co.nz and selecting the My Account tab in the menu bar near the top of the CafeNET homepage. The My Account page will tell you;

Logging Out Of CafeNET

There are three ways to Logout of CafeNET;

 

  1. Go to the My Account page (see instructions above) and then click on the Logout button. You will be automatically logged out and redirected to the CafeNET homepage.
  2. You will be automatically logged out of CafeNET after 15 minutes of inactivity. Inactivity means that no internet traffic (browsing, e-mail, FTP, VPN, etc.) has been sent or received. So when you shut down your device after using CafeNET you will be logged out automatically after 15 minutes.
  3. If you are currently logged in to CafeNET, and then use the same account details to login to CafeNET with a second device, your My Account page will tell you:

    You are already logged in to CafeNET on another computer.
    Please either Connect to CafeNET and Logout previous session:
    Or Logout of My Account:

If you click the Connect button, your initial connection will be logged out and you will be logged in on the second device. If you click the Logout button the second login attempt will be canceled and the current login (first device) will remain.

 

Other Features of My Account Page

 

Change Password tab


This tab is for changing your password. Just enter a new password twice in the boxes provided and click the Change Password button.

 

Change Details tab


This tab is for changing your username and mobile phone number.

Usernames must be in the format of an email address. Your email address is also easy to remember. We also recommend that you use a valid email address because the CafeNET system needs to email you from time to time, for example, if you need to reset your password and for notification of system outages. If you don't want to receive email from the mailing list choose the Mailing List tab (also on My Account page) and follow the directions to unsubscribe.

Optionally, you can also provide a mobile phone number which is used solely by the CafeNET system to text you a new password if you forget your current one. This is particularly useful when you are at a CafeNET location and are unable to login to CafeNET because you have forgotten your password.

 

Filtering Rules tab


This tab sets the filtering rules in the CafeNET system. All users receive the Default plan. While it is possible to customize the rules which apply to you we recommend that you use the Default plan.

 

Mailing List tab


This tab enables users to subscribe to or unsubscribe from the CafeNET mailing list.

Sometimes the CafeNET system needs to email you, for example, if you need to reset your password or for notification of system outages. Also from time to time we will notify you of special offers. If you don't want to receive email from the mailing list follow the directions on this page to unsubscribe.

 

 Payment History tab

 This tab shows the credit card payments you have made and provides a printable GST receipt for those payments.
